Lithuanian American Community:National Board Of Directors Election |
About the National Organization
At the national level the Lithuanian American Community (LAC) is governed by the National Board of Directors and the National Executive Committee. The National Board of Directors serves as the legislative body of LAC and sets the agenda and the rules of operation for LAC. The National Board of Directors consists of about sixty members elected every three years that meet once a year. The National Board of Directors appoints the chairman of the National Executive Committee and confirms the Committee's other members. The National Executive Committee oversees the day-to-day operation of the whole organization. QuotaArizona, along with Nevada and New Mexico, belongs to the Third Voting Region of the Western District. The number of candidates each region can vote for is based on the number of voting LAC members during the previous elections. Up to now Arizona was allowed to vote for only one candidate. Running more than one candidate splits the available number of votes for each candidate. To get elected usually takes over a hundred votes. In the past, Arizona has run a single candidate and has been successful in getting them elected. Because our candidate is competing against all the other candidates in the U.S., it is very important to get as many votes as possible for our candidate. The easiest way to vote is by internet, so PLEASE REGISTER AND THEN PLEASE VOTE. Thank you.Voter Eligibility
