Concert By Ausra Liutkute And Olga Konkova

Date: November 12, 2000
Place: Washburn Piano Hall, Glendale, Arizona

Ausra Liutkute (aliutkute@netscape.net), possibly the best young soprano in Lithuania today, performed famous arias from operas and operettas, and selected songs by Lithuanian composers at a single appearance in Glendale, Arizona. Ausra Liutkute was recently the unanimous first place winner from a field of 17 in a singing competition sponsored by the Lithuanian Academy of Music and came to us after very successful concerts in Chicago and Detroit. Ausra's voice is truly world class and she has a very promising future on concert and opera stages around the world. Olga Konkova (okonkova@hotmail.com), a very talented young pianist from Lithuania, accompanied Ausra's singing and performed solo.

For making this wonderful concert possible we are greatly indebted to Mrs. Rima Reklaitis, who not only made all the arrangements on very short notice, but also took Ausra and Olga into her home during their stay in Phoenix.
